Applications are invited for the substantive, full time post of Consultant Histopathologist, to commence as soon as possible. This is a replacement post. The post will primarily be to support the delivery of gastrointestinal pathology at NUH. It is expected that the appointee will contribute to the delivery of a full range of gastro-intestinal pathology services including upper GI, lower GI, Hepatobiliary and related cytopathology services. NUH provides a full range of GI services including regional centres for upper GI and HPB surgery. A number of other tertiary specialised GI services are based at NUH.
The appointee will have the opportunity to join research activities within the Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre and the Nottingham Molecular Pathology Node.
It is anticipated that the appointee will be given the opportunity to develop at least one other area of expertise in consultation with the Department and Consultant colleagues.
The advertised post will be based at the Queen’s Medical Centre Campus of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
An opportunity will exist to undertake Category 2 work in the form of post mortem examinations for Her Majesty’s Coroner.
You should be in possession of the FRCPath (or equivalent), be on the appropriate specialist register of the GMC/within 6 months of CCT date at the time of interview, and have appropriate subspecialist training in Cellular Pathology.
