Consultant Ophthalmologist with expertise in Oculoplastics
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Consultant Ophthalmologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust with expertise in Oculoplastics. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our growing team of 21 Ophthalmic Consultants at Queen’s Medical Centre working together to make a difference to Ophthalmology services within Nottingham and beyond.
This is an opportunity to join a team of highly qualified and experienced ophthalmologists and be responsible for providing the management of patients in all aspects of the Oculoplastics sub-specialism.
The unit offers a comprehensive range of routine and specialist ophthalmic services and the post-holder will be expected to play an active role in the development and provision of the Oculoplastics sub-specialty service for patients at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and be on the GMC Specialist Register for surgical Ophthalmology or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
The post requires orbital surgery experience, experience in managing thyroid eye disease and paediatric oculoplastics in addition to lid and lacrimal surgery. The timetable includes: 3 oculoplastic clinics, 1 general clinic and 2 oculoplastic operating theatres. Cataract surgery is not part of the timetable. The department is looking to working 3 session days and Saturday working as part of the regular timetable.
