Consultant Cellular Pathologist
BHR is one of the largest Associate Teaching Hospitals, providing acute care for over 700,000 people from across 2 main sites – Queens and King George Hospitals, as well as peripheral sites at Barking, Dagenham and Brentwood. We are a major Neurosciences centre, and are undergoing significant further development as a tertiary referral centre for North East London and Essex, including additional critical care capacity.
We are seeking a Consultant to join a team of eleven Consultant Histopathologists. Diagnostic work distribution is by a combination of ‘pull’ and ‘push’ system that allows individuals significant flexibility to control their own working patterns and find protected time to pursue other interests including clinical audit, teaching, research and development.
The successful candidate will have sole use of a well-appointed office equipped with microscope and up to date IT facilities including the option of digital dictation. All of the cut-up is done under consultant supervision by a team of specialty doctors, BMS advanced practitioner and a pathologists’ assistant.
We have a fantastic laboratory with excellent immunohistochemistry facilities.
The successful candidate must hold FRCPath or equivalent GMC registration and licence to practice and be on the specialist register or within 6 months of CCT date at interview.
