Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts.

There has been a long-running discussion regarding the regional future of Vascular Services across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. The respective Trust Boards for STH and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTH) are considering the most appropriate form for a single service that builds on the strengths of the existing clinical models, and expect to be nominating a Regional Clinical Director for Vascular Services, reporting jointly to the two Medical Directors. There will also be two Regional Clinical Leads, one for Vascular Interventional Radiology and one for Vascular Surgery. The intention is that this clinical leadership team will be in place by the end of January 2019. As part of the overall development of a regional single service, two-site model, an additional Consultant Vascular Interventional Radiologist post has been created.

We are seeking a candidate who is interested in contributing to the development of an outstanding Regional Vascular Service that is built on a vibrant collaboration between surgeons and radiologists. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to a flexible team approach to delivering services across the region, and although the primary contract of employment will be with STH, an honorary contract with DBTH will be put in place from the outset.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Mr Peter Braidley Clinical Director, tel: 0114 2714709 or Dr Steve Thomas, Clinical Lead in Vascular Radiology tel: 0114 226 6532.
