Consultant in Paediatric Gastroenterology
Paediatric Consultant Gastroenterologist with interest in Special Interest Mucosal Immunology, Substantive 10 PAs position.
We are currently inviting applications for a full time Paediatric Consultant to join our Gastroenterology team.
This exciting opportunity is for a permanent full-time post (8 DCC / 2 SPA) to work in this unique and supportive environment within a busy children’s hospital.
We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic consultant with appropriate clinical experience to join our team of 10 paediatric Gastroenterologists working specifically within the Mucosal Immunology Unit.
This post involves a 1 in 7 on-call commitment (non-resident) for Gastroenterology patients when attending providing 24 hour cover for the service. They will also be required to undertake senior leadership responsibility for the management of patient care whilst leading a team of middle grade Drs in the in-patient care of children. The on-call consultant is expected to undertake ward rounds at the weekend and on public holidays.
The successful applicant will run general GI clinics, IBD clinics and a joint GI-Allergy clinic. The successful applicant will also be required to undertake one endoscopy list on alternative weeks, with additional cases under general anaesthesia as required.
Applicants are expected to be MRCHP/MRCHPCH qualified or equivalent, and have extensive experience in general paediatrics, paediatric gastroenterology as well as evidence of experience in inflammatory bowel conditions.
