Located at St Barnabas House, Worthing

St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas of West Sussex through a range of services, including in-patient care, day hospice and community care.

This is a new post that has arisen as the result of expansion in the consultant team. The appointee will be assisting with the provision of consultant medical support as part of the multidisciplinary team at St. Barnabas House, with a particular focus on the community team and inpatient unit. There is also an second on call commitment as part of a shared consultant rota covering palliative care services in the local area.

The post offers opportunities to participate in education programmes for all levels of healthcare professionals: both internally through our education department and in teaching for medical students and trainee doctors through our links with the local medical school and postgraduate training programmes. Active involvement with audit, clinical investigation and research will be encouraged, in particularly seeking opportunities to develop the Hospice’s research activity.

Applicants must be fully registered and licensed with the GMC and on the specialist register for Palliative Medicine or date of completion within 6 months of interview.
