We are searching for an enthusiastic candidate for the Screening & immunisation Lead (SIL) post embedded in the West Midlands NHS England DCO team.

This involves providing system leadership for the section 7A screening and immunisation programmes commissioned by NHS England. You will need strong public health and commissioning skills and knowledge to work with providers, NHS England, CCGs, PHE SQAS, Local Authorities and other stakeholders to maximise uptake and improve quality. There will also be opportunities to work with the national teams. You will report to the Lead SIL and your programme and project responsibilities will primarily be in the screening programmes. The role includes chairing screening Programme Boards and leading on the management of serious incidents.

It offers a good mix of proactive and reactive work including coordinating interventions that demonstrate results in a relatively short period.

We are a large and welcoming public health team that takes pride in ensuring everyone is able to contribute to discussions and you will have a role in maintaining the PHE CARE culture and organisational development of the team.

The team is based in Worcester and Birmingham covering a wide geographical area and so the role involves agile working and travel. NHS England is currently undergoing reorganisation and patterns of work may change in the short to mid-term.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate and we look forward to your application.

For informal discussions please email or phone 07545 024779 leaving a message if necessary and Dr Ash Banerjee (Lead SIL) will call you back within one working day.
