Applications are invited to apply for the post of Consultant Radiologist. This is a county-wide post at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, joining a forward looking team of 25 Radiologists across the County. The posts attract 10 Programmed Activities and are based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital with 1 day at either the Alexandra Hospital Redditch or the Kidderminster Treatment Centre.

A broad spectrum of interests exists amongst the current radiologists and we are keen to accommodate a variety of subspecialist interests to complement our own. Services are provided in MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Flouroscopy, DEXA, Interventional, general Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. We have placed a bid for phase 2 PET/CT.

Following a review of the delivery of clinical services across the county Worcester Acute Hospital is the hyperacute centre including stroke, trauma and surgery and the main base for radiology. A brand new radiotherapy facility opened in early 2015 delivering radiotherapy on site in Worcester for the first time as part of a strategy to comprehensive oncology care within the county.

Radiology provides 7 day services with planned evening and weekend sessions incorporated into annualised job plans. CT is outsourced to a teleradiology provider from 2100-0900.

Worcestershire is a beautiful county, with a thriving hub and stunning recreational facilities, offering culture, music and an expanse of new housing developments and top rated schools.

It is an excellent location to live and work, located centrally to the heart of England with easy access to Birmingham, Gloucester, Cheltenham and good transport links to London and the North. Worcester was voted the 8th happiest place to live in 2013 and both Worcester and Redditch enjoy good connections by road and rail to Birmingham, Wales, the South West and London.

Applicants should hold full GMC registration with a License to practice.
