Clinical Training Fellow - GOS Charity Lewis Spitz Surgical Scientist Programme
The appointment will be on UCL Grade Clinical Training Fellow - Speciality Training Registrar. The salary range will be Str £36,219 - £51,215 per annum or Junior Doctor salary £40,283 - £50,224 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Applicants are invited for a Clinical Research Fellowship at the UCL GOS ICH. Candidates for this Clinical Research Fellowship will register for a PhD at UCL ICH GOS and will apply for an honorary contract at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work with the course organisers to select a research project for his/her PhD study from a portfolio of potential projects (link to web page with project information (project portfolio).
The aim of the appointment is to provide surgical trainees with an opportunity to gain research skills, prepare research-based publications, and achieve a PhD degree. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in clinical research and aspirations of becoming a clinical academic. This scheme is endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
This position is available for 36 months in the first instance.
MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification. GMC registration and entry on the appropriate GMC Specialist Register. Willingness to develop and pursue to completion a research project in any area of surgery relevant to paediatric practice.
Ability to contribute intellectually to the development and conduct of the research project.
