The Trust is committed to providing high quality integrated health and social care for local people with mental health problems in South West London and more specialist mental health services for people throughout the UK.
Consultant – Ellis Ward
We are a dynamic, financially stable mental health trust which has recently been rated ‘good’ by the CQC both overall and specifically for our acute and urgent care services. We are undertaking a Trustwide quality improvement programme involving all clinicians, which has already begun delivering results. We have invested in further improvements to our acute and urgent care services, including innovative ‘Recovery Cafés’ for service users, a Psychiatric Decision Unit, and integrated Out of Hours services.
We are looking for another Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Acute & Urgent Care consultant body. This is a new substantive post, arising because of service developments.
Ellis Ward is currently a 12-bed ward specialising in the acute psychiatric care of men of working age; by 2021 it will move into a new purpose-built unit at Tolworth Hospital and grow to 18 beds. Despite being a relatively new service, it has a strong ethos and a good clinical team, including support from a full-time specialty doctor. The postholder will provide clinical leadership to the team alongside the Ward Manager. There is the opportunity to become involved in redeveloping the pathway for men receiving acute and intensive psychiatric care in hospital.
If you are an experienced dynamic practitioner who would like to be part of this expanding service, we would like to hear from you.
