Consultant(s) Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
NHS Tayside is seeking to appoint to 2 WTE Consultant posts within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Outpatient services in NHS Tayside. Applicants wishing to work part-time will be considered. One post is based in Dundee and one post is based in Perth.
The post holders will provide psychiatric input for multidisciplinary CAMHS in Tayside CAMHS which provides a service for children up to age 16 yrs and beyond up to age 18 yrs if on a school roll.
The CAMHS service is a dynamic, forward-looking service with strong links to the University of Dundee, with an active interest in teaching and research. The clinical service has undergone considerable redesign in the past few years and now has a comprehensive range of integrated services with an experienced and highly motivated workforce. Multi-disciplinary teams have a strong commitment to evidence based practice and to teaching and training.
There are a range of outpatient services provided including an Intensive Outreach Tier 4 Service and a 12 bed Adolescent Inpatient Unit. Outpatient services are currently delivered from two outpatient bases, one in Dundee and one in Perth. Strong links are maintained with the 3 local authorities, the voluntary sector and Adult Mental Health Services.
Applicants must have completed Higher Specialty training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and must be included on the GMC Specialist Registrar or be within 6 months of CCT or CESR in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the time of interview for the post.
