Department of Respiratory Medicine
King’s College Hospital has an opportunity to join our innovative Respiratory Medicine department.
There are 2 roles available. The post based primarily on the Denmark Hill Campus but working in connection with department colleagues at the Princess Royal University Hospital will provide a clinical role in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with lung cancer in addition to contributing to the general internal medicine inpatient service.
The successful candidate will work with an MDT to provide high quality care and will be expected to constantly seek to improve and refine the service in line with the ambition to deliver a cross-site international standard service at KHP.
The second post will be based primarily at the Princess Royal University Hospital. It is envisaged this will be mainly to support the lung cancer services on that site, but other sub-speciality interests can be considered.
The appointees will participate in both the medical and respiratory on-call rotas and will be responsible for the continuing care of patients admitted as emergencies, in addition to contributing to bronchoscopy and pleural lists. As a consultant in a major teaching hospital, the successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education. The development of relevant research interests will be encouraged, and opportunities will be enhanced by the Academic Health Sciences Centre.
You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.
