Consultant Immunologist and Allergist
Applications are invited for a Consultant Immunologist and Allergist to join our committed and enthusiastic forward-thinking team in supporting both the immunology laboratory and clinical immunology and allergy services in Leicester. This will include three outpatient clinics, as well as day case supervision of adult immunoglobulin replacement therapy. You will work with colleagues within the Trent Immunology and Allergy Consortium (TRIAC) network to ensure provision of a high quality Clinical Immunology and Allergy service in UHL.
Laboratory responsibilities include reporting and liaison with service users and planning appropriate immunological investigation of patients. There is a commitment to participate in reporting of flow cytometry in haematological malignancy within the context of a Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Laboratory service (training will be provided if necessary). You will ensure the delivery of a high quality laboratory service to nationally accepted standards (UKAS).
Participation in the on call rota is for clinical telephone advice.
You are expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical audit, research and development. You will also be required to undertake management duties and work within a multidisciplinary team.
The appointment is whole time. Any Consultant who is unable for personal reasons, to work whole time, will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with Consultant colleagues.
Membership of the Royal College of Pathologists, and full GMC registration with a license to practice and inclusion on the Specialist Register is a requirement.
