Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in Interventional Cardiology
West of Scotland Regional Heart and Lung Centre and Greater Glasgow and Clyde
Applications are invited for the above post based within the West of Scotland Regional Heart and Lung Centre at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank. The hospital is the regional tertiary centre for cardiac surgery and complex electrophysiology for the West of Scotland and one of two regional PCI centres. It also houses the Scottish Advanced Heart Failure service, Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service and the Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit.
A full range of investigative, outpatient and inpatient facilities are provided on site including 4 cath labs (one biplane) and state-of the art echo, CT and MR imaging. Last year the hospital performed around 6500 cath lab and 390 device procedures .This included 2950 PCI's of which approximately 750 were PPCI's The department has 1 dedicated EP lab which provides 500 procedures per annum. The post will be high volume coronary intervention appointments.
This locum appointment is necessary to support increased coronary capacity. This post represents an excellent opportunity for high volume coronary experience in a large tertiary centre. A demonstrable subspecialty interest is essential.
