Applications are invited to apply for a substantive Consultant post in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and progressive clinician to join our friendly, dynamic team of intensivists, anaesthetists and allied professionals.
The successful applicant will join a group of 9 other intensive care consultants, with backgrounds in anaesthesia and acute medicine, who are responsible for the 10 bed adult Department of Critical care (DoCC), and will also provide daytime anaesthetic services for most major surgical specialties including colorectal, orthopaedics, ENT, and paediatrics.
There will excellent opportunities to develop personal interests including echocardiography (including transoesophageal), research, governance, outreach and ICU follow-up. The unit is a consistently high performing department with low SMRs, and a fantastic reputation for evidenced–based practice, education and training within the Oxford deanery.
This replacement post comprises 10 programmed activities (PA), with additional PAs available on discussion. On-call commitments will be 1 in 10 non-resident for the DoCC.
Dual/joint accreditation in Anaesthesia and ICM (or equivalent e.g. advance training in ICM) is required and applicants should possess, or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT.
The Trust has close clinical and academic ties with Oxford University Hospitals and the successful applicant will be expected to participate in teaching both under and postgraduate students associated with the University of Oxford and the newly opened University of Buckingham Medical School.
