Consultant in Respiratory & General Medicine (10 PAs)
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
This is an exciting new post offering the opportunity to work in a large and innovative Respiratory Unit in a University teaching hospital, plus contribute to the expanding general medicine service.
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a major single site hospital, in which the well-established Respiratory Unit provides a comprehensive range of sub-specialty services. The unit has 8 Respiratory Consultants who have a broad range of specialist interests and areas of expertise. As well as contributing to General Respiratory Outpatient Services and Bronchoscopy, the successful applicant will also provide a 2PA commitment to General Medicine. Although not essential, an interest in Cystic Fibrosis would be advantageous, while experience in EBUS, CPET and/or Medical Thoracoscopy would also be helpful. This post will contribute to an in-patient receiving service for General Medicine and requires the candidate to work on a flexible rota system which includes weekends and on call commitment. This is outlined in the attached job description. The post has not out-patient commitment, but this may change with future developments within the service.
