We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic paediatricians to join our team, supporting the ongoing development and delivery of the integrated service for Children with Additional Needs, delivered from three Child Development Centre Hubs within Leeds. Here at Leeds Community Healthcare (LCH), we are working in partnership with Leeds City Council, primary care, education, third sector and other services to be the best city in the UK for children and young people to grow up in. Our new posts reflect the innovation in our services to meet this goal and deliver our LCH Children’s Strategy.

Central to our service philosophy and approach is placing the child and family at the centre of delivery of care.

The workload is busy, but the environment is one of support, as well as having a sense of enjoyment and job satisfaction. We have a strong programme of Quality Improvement, Continuing Professional Development and development of medical leadership.

We are seeking to appoint a number of Consultants to expand our team of Community Paediatricians:

1) Full time/Part time Consultant Community Paediatricians (up to two full time posts) – East (Reginald Centre), South (St Georges Centre) or West (Wortley Beck) Child Development Centres

These posts holders will contribute to Paediatric neurodisability service and the Community Paediatric clinics within a specific geographical hub. You will also contribute to the daytime Community Child Protection rota.

2) Part-time Consultant Community Paediatrician (0.8PA) - Specialist services, St Georges Centre.

This is a new post designed to support and integrate the pathways within the specialist City-wide services.

You will contribute to the Springfield (neonatal abstinence) clinics, Community Paediatric and Growth and Nutrition clinics, and will be one of the Medical Advisors for Adoption and fostering providing clinics and attending adoption panel. You will also contribute to the daytime Community Child Protection rota.

You will play an important role in supporting the specialist training of paediatric trainees and will contribute to the under graduate teaching programme.

At Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, we exist to provide the best possible care in every community in Leeds. Community Paediatric Services provide care to patients from a wide range of backgrounds and with multiple conditions. Their safety and the quality of their outcomes are at the heart of what we do.

We have a strong teaching and research base and offer a broad range of experiences. Come and join the team and be part of the future.

Applications will be welcomed from candidates included on or eligible for the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT in Paediatrics.
