Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Full-Time 10 PA (applications for less than full-time will be considered)
Are you an enthusiastic Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a passion for providing and developing quality specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services for young people?
At ELCAS (East Lancashire Child and Adolescent Services) our vision is to be a recognised centre of excellence providing high quality Child and Adolescent Psychological and Mental Health Services that exceed people’s expectations. We are accredited by the Quality Network for Community CAMHS, part of the Royal College of Psychiatry Centre for Quality Improvement.
Would you like to join our multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and help us to expand our services? We have well established Consultant-led teams providing specialist mental health services across East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. This is an exciting time to join our team as a sixth Consultant as we build on our existing track record and develop our range of services in line with a regional transformation programme modelled on Thrive, to ensure our services are future-focused. This is a new Consultant post in the Hyndburn, Rossendale and Ribble Valley specialist team in ELCAS. You are likely to be interested in community CAMHS, but also keen to develop a special interest.
The service offers placements for trainees in core Psychiatry and General Practice; higher specialty trainees in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry; and students from a wide range of disciplines. You will be expected to contribute to the overall training offered within the service and to outside agencies. The service has good links with the University of Manchester, the University of Liverpool, and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is a large and integrated healthcare organisation, with a vision to be widely recognised for delivering safe, personal and effective care. We want to support you in developing your career as a Consultant, and give you the opportunity to drive your ideas forward and have a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.
You will have full GMC Registration and be included on GMC Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion (or within 6 months of gaining specialist registration at time of interview) with evidence of relevant training and experience in Child and Adolescent psychiatry. You will have a broad clinical experience in different settings related to mental health, and experience of a wide range of therapeutic interventions. We can accommodate flexible working patterns.
