The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist mental health trust with a focus on training and education alongside a full range of mental health and Gender services.
Within the Trust, the Tavistock and Portman ‘Charing Cross’ Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) is the largest and oldest of the 7 English GICs, dating back to 1966. It serves to diagnose and treat adults with gender dysphoria through a biopsychosocial care pathway, involving a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, specialist nurses, speech and language therapists, and medical practitioners. The team members are lead clinicians, researchers and trainers in the field with an international reputation.
The Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) in London is recruiting to three whole time equivalent Consultant Psychiatrist roles within the clinic. This is an exciting and emerging field of medicine. The position will be a 1 WTE in an NHS clinic in Hammersmith, London with no on call responsibilities.
Interest in Gender is mandatory, however experience and training in the field can be attained once appointed.
