The Yorkshire & Humber Centre is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Health Protection which will provide an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people living within Yorkshire & the Humber.

The post holder will provide leadership, management and oversight of the health protection function, including the response to incidents and outbreaks. The postholder will have responsibility for day to day operational delivery including working closely with partners, and ensuring delivery of high-quality surveillance, response and support.

The Yorkshire and Humber PHE Centre is developing cross centre and place-based working and as a result the postholder will also be required to work across the Centre on joint initiatives and individual workstreams within the other domains of public health.

Candidates must be included on the GMC Specialist Register or UK Public Health Register or within 6 months of gaining entry. The successful candidate will have at least 6 months experience of Health Protection as well as experience of communicable disease control. Candidates must have effective interpersonal and influencing skills, be able to prioritise work, and work well against a background of change and uncertainty.
