Consultant in Haematology (Substantive)
Applications are invited for a substantive Consultant Haematologist to undertake 10 Pas.
Particular interests and experience in in thrombosis, laboratory haematology and transfusion would be welcome, but there will be opportunities to discuss other areas of interest before the appointment.
The post-holder will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly team of 6 Consultant haematologists, 6 trainee doctors; 3 nurse specialists and a highly experienced Transfusion Practitioner.
The appointee will participate in an in-patient attending rota as well as in a 1 in 5 on-call rota out of hours.
The Department is a specialist centre for haemoglobin and red cell disorders, operating as the centre for a large Red Cell Network. We also treat a wide range of malignant and benign conditions, including level 2B malignant haematology patients (salvage chemotherapy for lymphoma), with the exception of haemophilia, intensive treatment of acute leukaemia and bone marrow transplantation.

All Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice and be on the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training or equivalent). All posts are 10 programme activities however part time applications or job shares will be considered.
