About the post

Noble’s Hospital provides a general paediatric service to a geographically isolated community. Deliveries in the obstetrics department are approximately 1,000 per annum. It is situated in the capital of the Isle of Man and equipped to the very latest standards with an Education and Training Centre and library situated in the grounds.

This post is part of a full shift rota comprising of 7 doctors and attracts 10 PA with a possible additional 5.5 PAs (with the additional PA's being subject to change and Job Plan review).

You will support elective and emergency paediatric and neonatal services for the Isle of Man, working in a seven person shift rota (resident on call). As this is a first on-call post, we are looking for someone with the ability to function at ST3 to ST4 level, as there are no middle grade staff and Consultants are non-resident.

Within this role you would also take on general clinical duties, attend at out-patient clinics and postgraduate education sessions and you will have the opportunity to assist with audit as part of your personal development and appraisal process.

You will be working within a supportive team, including three Consultants, an Associate Specialist, an F2 Doctor and a GP Trainee all of whom are committed to improving outcomes for patients from our island population!

To be successful in this post, you will need to have full registration with the GMC, including a licence to practice and MB ChB or equivalent.
