Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma & Orthopaedics Special Interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery
The Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is offering a Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma & Orthopaedics Special Interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery for 12 months with the dynamic, award-winning Trauma and Orthopaedic team. The Great Western Hospital provides treatment to the local population of Swindon (circa 350,000) and to the surrounding county of Wiltshire. Referrals are also received from neighbouring counties of Gloucestershire and Berkshire. The hospital has 330 in-patient beds and 15 theatres.
The appointment will be at Specialist Registrar Grade. This post will be suitable for a Specialist Registrar at the end of their rotation as it will provide excellent experience in spinal surgery prior to achieving a consultant appointment. The post-holder will work closely with the two Orthopaedic Consultants, Mr John Grice and Miss Sarah Irby. There will be opportunities for research and independent operating as well as learning specialist procedures. The Orthopaedic Department prides itself on its research output with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals each year as well as many podium presentations and posters at national and international meetings.
