Consultant in Orthopaedics
The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Permanent Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a Special Interest in Upper Limb Surgery.
The Consultants will have a responsibility for providing a service in conjunction with consultant colleagues. Both positions provide an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified specialist to actively contribute to the further development of a modern Trauma & Orthopaedics service. The Trust is a highly regarded hospital with its wide range of acute and community services, which will afford high professional visibility. The successful candidates will have a first-class opportunity to build a strong reputation as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
The successful candidate will join a team of 7 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons with supporting staff of 2 Associate Specialists, 4 Speciality Doctors, 4 training grades and 3 Clinical Fellows. This position provides an excellent opportunity to actively contribute to the further development of the Orthopaedic and Trauma service within this Trust. The department serves a population of approximately 230,000 with a typical case mix for a District General Hospital. The Trust is forward-looking and highly regarded within the local region. The James Paget University Hospital is modern with state of the art scanning and diagnostics.
The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an active partner in the Joint Venture Medical School at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. Approximately 1/3 of the undergraduate medical education is provided by the Trust. In line with the Trust’s commitment to education and training both at undergraduate and post graduate level, a new multi million pound state of the art facility has recently opened on the premises. There will be opportunities for the interested candidate to become involved in the undergraduate programme and have access to research facilities at the University.

Candidates must have CCT or be within six months of completion of training or be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register. Office accommodation and secretarial support will be provided.
