Consultant in Orthogeriatrics
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Trauma and Orthopaedic department are looking to recruit three Orthogeriatric Consultants. These new appointments are an important part of our strategy to remain a preferred provider to local Health Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups across a wide range of hospital services, as well as helping us to improve outcomes for our elderly trauma patients, and to consolidate trauma for the Hampshire Hospitals Trust on the Basingstoke site.
The successful candidates will work in partnership with a forward looking and enthusiastic Orthopaedic department to deliver comprehensive care to our elderly trauma patients.
These roles will include preoperative assessment, liaison with anaesthetic staff, resuscitation, post-operative care and rehabilitation to be delivered as part of a team with the orthopaedic service.
Some weekend working will be required, as part of a seven-day service, but we do not anticipate that there will be a requirement for out of hours “on-call” working. There will be no commitment to the general medical on-call rota.
The appointments will be supported by middle grade medical staff and orthopaedic middle grades and foundation doctors. There will be oppor-tunities for flexible and part-time working.
