Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to join the lysosomal storage disorders team at the Royal Free. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, ambitious consultant to contribute to further expansion and development of the lysosomal storage disorders services at the Royal Free Hospital.

The service seeks to appoint a substantive full time 10PA clinical LSD consultant and related subspecialty post. The post will provide and develop services for LSD (7 PA) and related subspecialty (3 PA) at RFH. The post holder will also participate in the currently active translational research activity within the Institute.

The 3 PA in a subspecialty related to LSDs (neurology, metabolic, genetics) will strengthen research in this population of rare metabolic disorders, with 2/3rd of the lysosomal storage disorders presenting with neurodegeneration.

The post holder is expected to participate in revalidation and audit and partake in on-call commitment (advice for lysosomal disorders, non-resident). Supporting activities within the Department including teaching and educational supervision will also be expected of the post holder.

Supervision and mentoring of this post will be provided by the department according to the seniority of appointee.

The Royal Free is a leading national centre for lysosomal storage disorders, pulmonary hypertension, amyloidosis and carcinoid heart disease. Applicants with a commitment to research and service development are particularly encouraged to apply. The Royal Free is part of UCL medical school and the post-holder will be expected to actively participate in undergraduate teaching, trainee supervision and appraisal.
