Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon
This replacement post will be primarily based within the Orthopaedic Directorate, University Hospital Ayr, working within a team of 7 Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeons, and linking with the team of Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeons based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
The successful candidate should have experience in orthopaedic surgery with a sub specialty interest in lower limb arthroplasty including revision surgery.
Trauma & Orthopaedic services in Ayrshire and Arran are currently delivered on 2 sites serving a combined population of 375,000.
University Hospital Ayr is a 343-bedded general hospital located to the south east of Ayr town. University Hospital Ayr also provides several area-wide services for Ayrshire and Arran including Vascular Surgery and Urology.
University Hospital Crosshouse is a 539-bedded general hospital located on the outskirts of Kilmarnock including the co-location of the Ayrshire Maternity Unit and hosts several area-wide and one national service.
Applicants will be appropriately experienced, must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice, and be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of eligibility of the award of CCT/CESR by the date of interview.
