The University is entering an exciting new era as we strive to maintain and enhance our dynamic reputation and performance in a rapidly evolving higher education environment.

As part of a major strategic change initiative, the University is set to invest over £7 million in the School of Medicine. The School is investing £2 million in strengthening its staff base across a range of academic, clinical and professional services roles. This major recruitment drive will significantly increase expert clinical input in the teaching timetable and ongoing curriculum developments. In order to help us achieve our ambitions, we are seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of School for the School of Medicine.

Applications are invited from experienced Consultants and Clinical Academic Leaders to support the Dean of the School of Medicine in leading and managing a complex and diverse workforce responsible for the delivery of medical education.

The School of Medicine is organised around Undergraduate and Postgraduate activity. This role predominately supports undergraduate activity and the postholder will work closely with the Dean of the School of Medicine, the Director of Studies and the Year Leads for the MBChB programmes.

The successful applicant will join an innovative University that is passionate about inspiring people to learn and achieve, that celebrates individuality and ingenuity, energy and enterprise, and is committed to enhancing both the student experience and our research excellence.
