Consultant Physician with an Interest in Diabetes & Endocrinology and Weight Management
Exciting times lie ahead for the Trust with its recent merger with UHB. This will afford a fantastic opportunity for the successful applicant to work with National and internationally known medics within the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology.
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust already has one of the largest diabetes units in the UK and this is your chance to make a contribution to specialist services such as Weight Management, Insulin Pump, Pancreatic Transplant, Neuropathy and Foot. Heartlands Diabetes Centre is also the home of the Birmingham Black Country and Solihull Diabetic Eye Screening Programme.
The Diabetes Centre at Heartlands is within a purpose built unit with dedicated clinic rooms, phlebotomy, podiatry and retinal screening – allowing a “one stop shop” for diabetes.
The attached job plan is an example and we are happy to negotiate this within reason. It will however, involve outpatient clinics (where you will be encouraged to undertake specialist work as well as general diabetes and endocrinology) general medical on call and ward cover.
We would encourage you to contact the department to arrange a tour of the facilities and meet some potential colleagues or for an informal chat please contact Dr Margaret Clarke, Clinical Director via email to arrange a mutually agreeable time to speak. firstname.lastname@example.org
