The Trust is committed to providing high quality integrated health and social care for local people with mental health problems in South West London and more specialist mental health services for people throughout the UK.

Consultant Psychiatrist
(Part Time – 5PAs)
Richmond Home Treatment Team

We are a dynamic, financially stable mental health trust which has recently been rated ‘good’ by the CQC both overall and specifically for our acute & urgent care services. We have begun a Trust wide quality improvement programme involving all clinicians, which is already delivering results. We have invested in further improvements to our acute and urgent care services, including innovative ‘Recovery Cafés’ for service users, a Psychiatric Decision Unit, and integrated Out of Hours services.

We are looking for another Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Acute & Urgent Care consultant body. This is a new post, arising because of a change of consultant responsibilities within the service.

The post holder will, together with another consultant, provide clinical leadership to the Richmond Home Treatment Team (RHTT). The Team’s staff of nurses, STaR workers, doctors and social workers provide safe effective care to people in crisis at home – helping preserve family roles, independence, promoting recovery and reducing stigma. Only 1 in 4 people referred to the team are admitted to a ward, meaning RHTT help 75% of people recover at home. This provides excellent value for money and preserves resource for those in greatest need who cannot remain safely at home. The team excel in our Trust at achieving this with a range of services including clozapine initiation, community based alcohol detoxification, psychological support and signposting.

If you are a capable dynamic practitioner who would like to be part of this expanding service we would like to hear from you.
