Consultant in Medicine for Older People
Applications are invited for the above post of Consultant in Department of Medicine for Older People, based at Worthing Hospital part of the Western Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will join a highly regarded Department with a regional reputation for excellence. This substantive appointment is to expand the Department. This is an opportunity following reconfiguration of our in-patient beds. It will therefore allow a diversity of sub-speciality interests by negotiation. This could include continuing to develop the assessment of Older People with frailty presenting as emergencies by focusing the new Consultant at the front door on the Frailty Zone in the Emergency Floor and in A&E. It could also assist in the further development of our dementia services, surgical liaison or onc-geriatrics. This job description has been designed to reflect the development of either of these services. The post holder will work with the multi-disciplinary team and Physician colleagues across the Trust.
