Wye Valley Trust are looking for two Consultant Physicians specialising in Diabetic Medicine and Endocrinology. These posts provide an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and energetic Consultants to provide outpatient services with inpatient in-reach as part of the multidisciplinary team to further develop diabetes and endocrinology services in a small, friendly medical community.

The aim is to provide a service which fulfils National Service Framework Standards of Care with seamless primary and secondary care services as part of NHS Herefordshire’s Integrated Care Service.

As an integrated acute and community Trust the successful candidates will be based in the Diabetes Centre at Hereford County Hospital and will work collaboratively to develop the local endocrine service and integrated diabetes service across the county.

There is no on-call requirement with these posts, however for candidates who wish to take part in an on-call rota or be exposed to Acute Medicine, this can be negotiated.

This is an exciting time for the Trust as we have just invested in a significant increase in our medical consultant workforce across medicine and ED along with construction of new modern wards on our county Hospital site.

The hospital is located in the centre of a cathedral city which boasts access to most amenities and has good transport links to the local cities of Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol. It is situated in a beautiful, rural and unspoilt part of the country on the boundaries of the Brecon Beacons National park with great access to outdoor and family activities while enjoying a desirable lifestyle with a good work-life balance.

We welcome any enquiries and would be delighted to talk to you further and encourage potential applicants to visit.
