Consultants in Emergency Medicine
Based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Worcester
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for enthusiastic and committed Consultants in Emergency Medicine to work as part of our dynamic Emergency Medicine team based at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester. Worcestershire Royal Hospital is one of two Emergency Departments within the Trust, the other being at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch. The two departments work together to provide Emergency Care to the population of Worcestershire and surrounding areas. We are investing almost £1 million in improvements to our Ambulatory Emergency Care facilities at Worcestershire Royal (work starting in November) as part of a wider package of improvements to deliver significant improvements in patient flow.
We are seeking inspirational specialists who are passionate about transforming services to deliver comprehensive high quality services across the county. We are a cohesive, multidisciplinary team committed to progressing our service with a full complement of nursing staff, a dynamic ENP service and an in house rapid response and alcohol liaison service. The Consultant team are flexible and supportive of each other and opportunities are available for colleagues to develop their areas of sub-specialist interests. Successful candidates would ideally be joining the current consultants on a full time EM rota with a 1:8 weekend commitment. We are able to support LTFT working.
The Emergency Department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH) has approximately 70,000 attendances per year of which approximately 25% are paediatric. WRH is a recognised Trauma Unit as part of the Birmingham, Black Country, Hereford and Worcester Regional Trauma Network and has access to full support services.
The delivery of emergency services within Worcestershire is undergoing a period of remodelling and development which provides an excellent opportunity for successful candidates to be involved in shaping the future of emergency care within the county.
Worcestershire is a beautiful county, with stunning recreational facilities and top rated schools. It is an excellent location to live and work with something for everyone. Worcester enjoys good connections by road and rail to Birmingham, the South West and London.
