Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in microbiome-host interactions

A Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor position at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is open for the development of research in microbiome-host interactions at a systemic level. While the position is open to a broad range of research topics within this area, investigators working with experimental model systems applicable to translational research are highly encouraged to apply. The ideal applicants should have strong training in systems biology including metabonomics, metagenomics, cell and molecular biology.  Basic training in physiology, molecular genetics, behavioural analysis and experience of working with germ-free animals would be a plus. There is strong infrastructural support including the Singapore Phenome Centre (SPC), a centre of excellence on microbiome research, and a state of the art mouse facility.

The applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or MBBS/M.D. degree and a record of research achievement. In addition to high-quality research, the appointee will be expected to contribute to undergraduate medical education and to graduate student training.

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is a partnership between two of the world’s premier institutions of higher education, Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The medical school offers a five-year MBBS degree jointly awarded by both institutions. The School graduated its first cohort of medical students in May 2018. At the same time, the School has built up its research faculty and infrastructure to grow into a world-leading research institution.

Applicants should email a cover letter, C.V. (including contact information for 3 referees) and a brief statement of research interests (3 page limit) to Professor Sven Pettersson

 (LKCMedicine_OFA@ntu.edu.sg) by 30 November 2018.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
