Salary: MP Year 1-9 $352,424 (£195,169) - $449,614 (£248,993) p.a.(inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation and applicable allowances) *AUD/GBP conversion as at 03/10//2018 – Source: Oanda

Work Type: Nominally 6 sessions per week with an opportunity to negotiate an increase up to full time depending on the requirements of the successful applicant.

Area Profile: Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is Perth’s inner city, tertiary adult hospital. Home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service, RPH offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. It is also a premier teaching hospital and contributes to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care.

Position Profile:  We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic individual for the position of Consultant - Surgeon - General Surgery (Trauma) at Royal Perth Hospital. In this position, you will lead the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist Intensive Care Medical Practice in accordance with accepted professional standards. You will also promote patient safety and quality of care, whilst providing leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Medical / Service Co-Director / Head of Department / Head of Specialty and other Consultants, the position works to achieve national, state and East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) performance standards and targets, as well as working within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Registration Requirements: Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons
