Consultant in Stroke Medicine
Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust aspires to be a leader in the digital health revolution. With the launch of a full Electronic Patient Record in 2017 the Trust aims to be the safest, most efficient and patient centred trust in the NHS. The launch is part of a 10-15 year ongoing project of modernisation with future opportunities for research, development in this rapidly developing field of medicine. Through working at CHFT you can be part of this innovative area aiming to bring safer and more effective care to our patients.
The Trust has recently invested significantly in stroke therapy services and provides 5 times a week therapy to patients across 7 days. Early Supported Discharge is in place across both CCGs. There is a quarterly Stroke Strategic Group with participation from partners such as YAS, CCGs, the Stroke Association, community providers and patient representatives. The Trust is committed to continually developing its stroke services and is therefore looking to appoint an additional consultant as part of the ongoing improvements.
The Trusts Acute Stroke and Thrombolysis Centre has Level 2 accreditation and the stroke service was one of the first to receive national accreditation. It provides TIA and minor stroke management, acute stroke management, thrombolysis service and stroke rehabilitation and there is a shared telemedicine rota for thrombolysis, with two local NHS Trusts.
