Consultant- Chemical Pathologist
Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint a quality driven Locum Consultant in Chemical Pathology to join our team, in the department of Blood Sciences, at our Huddersfield Royal Infirmary site. We are looking to enhance our friendly and committed team with an individual who can drive our continued success and contribute to an exciting future.
The post holder will in conjunction with the Consultant Chemical Pathologist, work to develop and strengthen the clinical, analytical and scientific service in Clinical Biochemistry to clinicians and healthcare professionals within the Trust, and to General Practitioners in Primary Care, for the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients. The post holder will have the opportunity to support the lipid clinic and Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Service. There is an opportunity to gain experience working in a United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) ISO15189 (2012) accredited Blood Sciences department and developing Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) throughout the Trust. The Department has IBMS and RCPath Training Approval. The post holder should have FRCPath qualification or equivalent and registered with the GMC with a licence to practice and eligible to be on the Specialist Register for Chemical Pathology or within 3 months of achieving CCT at time of interview. The post is approved for 10.0 PA. There is no on-call requirement for this post.
