Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is nestled in the heart of the stunning Pennine hills; the area which inspired the works of the Bronte sisters. The trust has developed proposals for the next and very exciting phase in the Trust’s history. If approved they would create- over the next five years- more centralised care at our Trust in two specialist centres. An emergency care centre with a dedicated paediatric unit and a specialist centre for planned care in a brand new hospital alongside our new Acre Mills Outpatient centre, across from the existing Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. The Trust is recruiting a Consultant Anaesthetist to undertake sessions at both Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. They would be expected to participate in the 1:10 on-call rota. There are currently 13 Critical Care beds on 2 units. At Calderdale Royal Hospital there is a 5 bedded unit and 9 Operating Theatres with a central PACU, while on the Huddersfield site there are six theatres with a central PACU which forms the main theatre suite, in addition there are a further three theatres located in a purpose-built self-contained Day Case Unit and the Surgical Procedure Unit also contains an additional theatre used for local anaesthetic cases. Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining specialist registration at the time of interview and possess a Licence To Practise.
