Locum Consultant x2 Medicine of the Elderly
Applications are welcome for the above 12 Month, Fixed Term, full time, 40
hours per week posts based in Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
These are locum posts for the first year with a view to becoming permanent.
They provide an exciting opportunity for the successful applicants to join a
dynamic, enthusiastic and supportive team which is actively redesigning
services to provide an enhanced frailty assessment team for older people
presenting to the acute receiving unit of the hospital.
The Western General Hospital is a University of Edinburgh teaching hospital
based in the beautiful city of Edinburgh with specialist services including
medicine of the elderly, acute medicine and medical specialities as well as
oncology, colorectal and urological surgery
The Medicine of the Elderly service has existing specialist interests including
acute geriatric medicine, orthogeriatrics, stroke, rehabilitation, liaison, surgical preassessment and Parkinson’s disease.
We have excellent links with primary care and run community interface
services such as outpatient clinics, home visits and day hospitals.
We are highly regarded for our teaching and training for both undergraduate
and postgraduates and have strong links with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
The posts are available to start as soon as possible in 2018.
