Locum Consultant Urologist – 2 posts
Due to an expected retirement and increased centralisation of cancer services in the upcoming year, the Belfast Trust wish to appoint two locum Consultant Urologists, one with an interest in uro-oncology and one in core urology. It is also anticipated that substantive posts will be advertised in the near future.
You will be part of a team of nine urology consultants, based at the Belfast City Hospital, who provide all aspects of urological care to the population of Greater Belfast and Antrim area, along with regional services for pelvic cancer, reconstructive urology, cancer surgery and neuro-urology to the 1.8 million population of Northern Ireland.
Belfast Trust is the largest Trust in Northern Ireland and great emphasis is placed on the quality of life with an excellent education system and affordable property. This area boasts great transport links throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland and also direct flights to many European cities as well as easy access to a beautiful coastline and countryside and a great range of local amenities, shopping and nightlife.
Candidates must have full GMC Registration and Licence to Practise at time of appointment and be on the GMC’s Specialist Register in Urology or within 6 months of attaining specialist registration (CCT) at time of interview along with Fellowship or Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent.
Posts will be offered for an initial period of 6 months but with the possibility of a further extension.
