Are you a qualified consultant looking for a new challenge in a high
performance trust or just embarking on your consultant journey? If
you’re looking for an organisation who will support and guide your
career as you develop and reward your skills, then look no further than
Luton and Dunstable NHS Foundation Trust.

We’re striving forward in our achievement to go from good to
outstanding. The Luton and Dunstable Hospital is a 650-bedded busy
acute hospital serving a local population of approximately 400,000 from
Luton, Dunstable, South Bedfordshire and North Hertfordshire.

The appointee will work mainly at the Luton and Dunstable University
Hospital, and also provide acute services. You will join the current team
of twenty three consultants, together with junior staff. The department,
together with the Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the
Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire network, accepts in-utero transfers
from a wide geographical area.

There’s an increasing workload with 5,200 births per year, the unit
provides 122 hours of consultant presence on the delivery suite. The
Hospital has always been renowned for its friendly atmosphere and
good working relationships. Ongoing developments are now enabling a
considerable expansion in facilities, staff and, hence, services offered.

Candidates unable for personal reasons to work full-time are invited to
apply.

The surrounding areas are both urban and rural, the latter including
many attractive villages within easy reach of the Hospital. Excellent
schools are found nearby. There is very good access to central London
by road or rail and to the Midlands and the North via the M1 and A1.
London Luton Airport is within twenty minutes of the hospital.
Residence is required within ten miles by road or up to thirty minutes
travelling time of the hospital.

An informal discussion or visit may be arranged by appointment with
Miss Neela Mukhopadhaya, Clinical director for Gynaecology or Mr
Bright Gyampoh Clinical Director for Obstetrics via their PA Mrs
Andrea Pugh on 01582 497533 or andrea.pugh@ldh.nhs.uk
