Consultant Psychiatrist with a special interest in Psychotherapy
This post comes during a period of Health Board-wide service reviews, including a comprehensive Transformation programme of the Adult Mental Health Services in West Wales. The aim is to provide a spectrum of flexible and responsive services for the client group across the Health Board. The Psychological & Psychotherapeutic services is an integrated part of the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services Directorate, and has links across the range of Health Board services. The potential for Health Board-wide developments and a closer liaison with general health, primary care and social services is substantial and exciting. A major expansion in undergraduate medical student teaching is planned. The Psychological & Psychotherapeutic service provides a number of structured community & inpatient based assessment & intervention services for people across the 3 counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. In addition to the Psychotherapy provision the post holder will also provide a Medical Lead role for Gender Identity Disorders and the Adult Eating Disorder services.
