Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is renowned for excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiothoracic disease and a highly rated centre for research and teaching. It is the largest UK postgraduate specialist heart and lung centre with sites in Chelsea and Wimpole St, London and Harefield, Middlesex. Harefield Hospital is also one of UK’s largest heart and lung transplant centres.

You are invited for the post of consultant in nuclear medicine/radionuclide radiology to join a successful and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team providing the full range of diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures for our own patients and those of neighbouring hospitals. There are three SPECT cameras on each of the Brompton and Harefield sites, including 16-slice SPECT-CT and a solid state cardiac camera, and a 64-slice PET-CT camera in Wimpole Street. In 2017 we performed 6500 patient studies including 4000 myocardial perfusion scans, 1200 PET scans (oncology and cardiac) and 500 lung scans. You will work on all three sites alongside 4 consultants and 2 experienced specialty doctor colleagues.

You should have demonstrated the ability to advance a service that is already internationally renowned. In addition to clinical service you will contribute to research, teaching and audit and you will be eligible for honorary academic status in Imperial College London.

Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register in nuclear medicine or radiology and hold a CCT or be within 6 months thereof. If a radiologist, you should have sub-specialist training in diagnostic radionuclide radiology and be eligible to hold an ARSAC certificate for the commonly used radiopharmaceuticals. Equivalent training abroad will also be considered.
