The Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint two full time Consultant Thoracic Surgeons at Harefield Hospital. These are replacement posts.
You will join the existing team of Consultant Thoracic Surgeons at Harefield which provides a large Lung Cancer programme as well as a comprehensive Thoracic surgical service to parts of North West London and the Home Counties.
Harefield Hospital is also a regional centre for cardiology with a large and very successful Primary Angioplasty Service, a Cardiothoracic Surgery unit with dedicated Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons and an international centre for heart and heart-lung transplantation. It has approximately 955 staff, and 148 beds with 5 operating theatres and 4 catheter laboratories.
You would be expected to work as part of a thoracic team, that jointly with thoracic surgeon colleagues from the Royal Brompton, forms one of the largest Thoracic Surgical Units in the country.
You will join a department that has a high national and international profile. Therefore you will be encouraged to produce and drive research opportunities.
Applicants are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from date of interview for the post.
