Consultant in General Paediatrics with a special interest in Neurology & Epilepsy
The Trust is seeking to appoint a full-time (10 PA) substantive Consultant in General Paediatrics with a special interest in Neurology & Epilepsy, who will join a paediatric medical workforce of 14 WTE Consultants, one Associate Specialist, two Specialty Doctors, three Specialty Registrars and 7 SHOs. A recent expansion in consultant numbers has enabled improved on-site ‘out of hours’ consultant presence in line with the RCPCH “Facing the Future” standards.
This post is being advertised to help support the current Paediatric Neurology and Epilepsy service. The job plan consists of 10 PAs (8 DCC + 2 SPA) to include 3 OPD clinics per week, plus time allotted for clinical administration and teaching. The department operates a Consultant of the Week (COW) model to provide cover for the Paediatric ward and Level 1 SCBU on a 1 week in 7 basis and there is an acute tier 3 on-call commitment of 1 in 6 nights (with internal cover) and 1 in 7 weekends.
You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice and be on the Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at the interview stage.
