Consultant Haematologist with an interest in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
This is a replacement post based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow (QEUH) joining a team of 28 Haematology consultants across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This post is one of five consultant posts which support the National Adult Allogeneic Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Service. There are 5.6 million people in Scotland and the team carried out 85 allogeneic transplants in 2016-17.
The West of Scotland Adult Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Service (HSCTS) is currently one of the largest in the UK providing allogeneic transplant services for all of Scotland. It is an IMPACT trials centre and part of the Northern Alliance INNOVATE consortium. The successful applicant will be expected to help in redesigning the service following the move to the QEUH July 2018. The on-call within the department will be 1 in 5.
