Surgical Clinical Fellow
12-month fixed term contract
45 hours per week - flexible
£50k + excellent benefits
Established in 1932, the London Clinic has grown to become the UK’s largest independently owned non-profit hospital. We’re now looking for an experienced Surgical Clinical Fellow to join us at our state-of-the-art facilities, where we perform highly complex procedures as well as routine surgery and medicine.
About your role
Dedicated, professional and driven to meet high standards, you’ll support our Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgical consultants. As well as visiting patients in wards and supporting outpatient clinics, you’ll assist in theatre and provide emergency cover. In all cases, you’ll see that records are up to date and share key information with the team. You’ll also help to train other medical staff, while expanding your own expertise.
A flexible working pattern is available for this role.
You’ll bring junior doctor experience of clinical and surgical support in a multi-specialist hospital. You’ll also have experience of working as an SHO in medicine or surgery. With this background, you’ll be capable of assisting in theatre and performing routine procedures, for example, emergency CPR, ECGs, pre-operative ECG exams and the insertion of IV lines. You’ll also have the ability to diagnose ‘red flag signs’ associated with medical and surgical support.
A member of the General Medical Council and ideally, the Royal College of Surgeons, you’ll have an MBBS qualification (or equivalent). Please note that good written and spoken English skills are essential.
With your expertise and friendly, flexible approach, you’ll be an asset to our outstanding team.
In return, we offer a generous set of benefits including private health insurance, childcare vouchers, gym membership and a season ticket loan.
