Applications are sought for Consultant Histopathologists to join an enthusiastic team of 10 consultants at the Department of Histopathology and Cytopathology, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust. This is a replacement, whole time equivalent post. The department has a large and varied workload and has a system of subspecialisation: a variety of specialist interests can be accommodated (especially applicants with an interest in Gynaecological Pathology and Gastrointestinal Pathology).

The histopathology department plays an important role in teaching at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School. Candidates with an interest in undergraduate teaching, an academic interest, and experience of research in diagnostic pathology are encouraged to apply.  Appointees will be supported in developing research interests.

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals is the regional teaching hospital, providing general acute services to Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England as a regional cancer centre. Working as one hospital across two sites in Brighton and Haywards Heath, we treat over half a million patients a year.
