Gross basic salary: Staff Grade £43,162 - £78,799 / Associate Specialist £63,821 - £97,522

Number of PAs: 16

On-call commitment: 1:8 (4% Supplement)

Total 16 PA salary including on call and 4% intensity supplement: Staff Grade £70,785 - £129,230 Associate Specialist £104,666 - £159,936

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful applicant to relocate to the Island.

The successful candidate who will take up post as a Staff Grade or Associate Specialist according to prior experience. This is a replacement post. You must have a good grounding in general medical specialties with experience of working on a medical admissions unit and have MRCP(UK) or equivalent. FULL registration with the UK General Medical Council is essential. The appointee will contribute to general, unselected medical take in a 1:8 rota and will share the responsibility for managing inpatients, and will contribute to care of patients on the Renal unit. The post holder will be encouraged to train towards achieving specialist accreditation in Acute/General Medicine via the Article 14 route. Over the past 5 years, 6 middle grade doctors have acquired the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).

Renal practice in the Island is of necessity more broadly-based than that found in the UK mainland hospitals. Working closely with the Consultant, Clinical Fellow, House Officer and the multidisciplinary teams both on the renal unit and on the general medical wards, the post provides an unparalleled opportunity to practice all aspects of kidney medicine, dialysis, transplantation and to manage patients admitted from unselected acute medical admissions including coronary care and intensive care.

Full travelling expenses are paid from a UK port of entry, with a generous relocation package available and the appointee may take advantage of Jersey taxation policies. The post attracts residential qualifications and Jersey has excellent affordable private education for children. Under Jersey Law, applicants must possess FULL registration with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice.
