Consultant in ENT - General and Voice/Laryngology ENT
Applications are invited for a substantive ENT consultant post within a highly cohesive and motivated department in the South East of England.
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals is the regional teaching hospital, with established links to the neighbouring University. We provide both general acute and tertiary services to Brighton and Hove, Mid Sussex and the south east of England. Working as one hospital across two sites in Brighton and Haywards Heath, we treat over half a million patients a year.
An enthusiastic ENT consultant is required to complement the existing consultant team at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) NHS Trust. This post is to replace a current Consultant position left vacant due to retirement. Work will be based at both Brighton and Worthing Hospitals.
An interest in voice/laryngology is highly desirable.
The appointed applicant will have an integral role in the head and neck tertiary multidisciplinary team and should have experience in both benign and malignant laryngology, adult airway and benign head and neck surgery. A prior fellowship in such would be advantageous.
Brighton and Sussex have a rapidly expanding transoral/airway service, including full laser facilities, which the appointee would be encouraged to develop across allied hospitals of both Royal Sussex County and Worthing district general hospital. Successful applicants would be expected to take part in the on-call rota for the department based on a 1:8 frequency.
The department prides itself on a cohesive and congenial working relationship between 10 consultants, who collectively provide a comprehensive portfolio of general and specialist ENT services, including anterior/lateral skull base surgery, tertiary rhinology/otology, paediatric airway surgery, tertiary head and neck and craniofacial/reconstructive surgery.
The hospitals within Sussex have the advantage of unparalleled location between the South Downs and the coast, with the inexorable benefits this confers.
